Barbara Ann Jessup Humphrey
Barbara Ann Jessup Humphrey, 73, of LaGrange, GA passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Humphrey was born October, 1944 in LaGrange, GA to the late Clarence Junior Jessup and Emma Milam Jessup. She was a member of Creekside Baptist Church. Mrs. Humphrey previously was a Registered Nurse at West Georgia Medical Center and a charter member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvin Humphrey; grandchild, James Holston Humphrey; and her brother, Clarence Jessup. Survivors include her children, James Huey (Juanita) Humphrey, Leola LaVerne (Jeff) Norred, Paula Wyn (Ray) Tarwater, and Rebecca Ann Miller; grandchildren, Joshua Bradley (Keri) Miller, Jacob (Jonathon) Humphrey, Ashley Crawford, Christian Norred, Ashley Powell, Brianna Rae Tarwater, CJ Tarwater, Jerica Miller, and Alex Miller; great grandchild, Mason Miller and numerous other great grandchildren; sisters, Emma (David) Allen and Beverly (Danny) Walton; sister-in-law, Cheryl Jessup; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service was held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Striffler Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Lamar Truitt and Rev. Bryan Geter officiating. The gathering of family and friends was on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Christian Norred, CJ Tarwater, Joshua Miller, Dakota McCormick, Carl Carnes, Russell Allen, Danny Geter, and Jeff Norred, Honorary Pallbearer. Burial followed in Shadowlawn Cemetery. James M. Fomby
Mr. James M. Fomby, 76, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice. Raised by his aunt, Earline Fomby Waller, Mr. Fomby was born August 31, 1941, in Troup County, son of the late Lillian Fomby and Marion Garner. He lived in Hogansville most of his life, was a graduate of Hogansville High School, and was Baptist by faith. He was employed for a number of years by Eastern Airlines, retired from Cooper Lighting in Peachtree City, and then worked at Caterpillar in LaGrange. He enjoyed coin collecting, deer hunting, and being with his great-grandchildren. Survivors include his grandson, Bryan and Tricia Pike and their children, Hunter Pike, Hailey Pike, and Hayden Pike all of Hogansville; and his sister, Ann Daniel of LaGrange. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral in Hogansville, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4, Saturday.
