Man Accused Of Embezzling Thousands From Local Church

Troup County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested a former treasurer a local church after discovering evidence that he allegedly embezzled thousands of dollars from the church over a number of years.

Investigators were first notified of the issue after church leaders from Friendship Baptist Church on North Bernard Street in LaGrange asked them to look into missing funds from the church. The church recently changed treasurers and discovered between fifty and one hundred thousand dollars missing from a church account.
