22-year-old Jhordan Drakaar Haynes was captured in Atlanta Tuesday evening after he escaped while on a prison work detail earlier that morning.
Authorities with Troup County Corrections advised Haynes walked off a prison work detail on Greenville Street near Hill Street in La-Grange Tuesday morning about 8:30 a.m.
At the time of his escape Haynes was incarcerated in the Troup County Correctional Institute since 2012 for several violent convictions including two counts of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault with a Gun out of Dekalb County.

but by midday it was clear the fugitive was no longer in Troup County.
Agencies throughout the state helped look for Haynes and he was eventually located and taken back into custody at an undisclosed location in Atlanta around 5 p.m.
At this point officials are not releasing how Haynes somehow managed to escape the work detail or how he managed to end up in Atlanta.
Haynes was serving a 20 year sentence for the Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault convictions. This escape attempt should add several years to his already lengthy sentence.
