Man Allegedly Stabbed By Girlfriend

LaGrange Police are currently investigating an incident where a local man was allegedly stabbed by his long time girlfriend.

Sunday morning about 8:17 a.m., officers with the La-Grange Police Department responded to the Emergency Room at the West Georgia Medical Center on Vernon Road in reference to reports of a subject stabbed.

Police arrived and made contact with the male victim, who advised he had been stabbed by his girlfriend while on Wright Street.

Officers were able to confirm that the 48-year-old victim had a significant stab wound to his right shoulder requiring emergency treatment.

The victim advised police that he and his girlfriend, Roxanne Reed, have been dating for about 10 years on an off, but they have never lived together and do not have any children.

The victim explained that prior to the incident, he and Reed had been in an argument, which started at a second male’s home on Wright Street. The victim stated he Man Allegedly Stabbed By Girlfriend

asked Reed to come with him from the residence, continuing to argue.

According to the victim, at about 12:30 a.m., while still on Wright Street, Reed reached into her purse and grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the shoulder.

Detectives are still actively investigating this incident and as of press time have not arrested Reed; however, they have listed her as a suspect for Aggravated Assault with a Knife.

This incident remains under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigations Section.
