of Weathers Drive in reference to reports of multiple gunshots fired at a residence.

Investigators advised the home in question was unoccupied at the time of the shooting; however, numerous nearby homes were occupied. Deputies say the residence also sustained significant damage from the shooting.

Over the course of the subsequent investigation, Sheriff’s Investigators were able to uncover evidence indicating William Casey Dean, of LaGrange, was involved with the shots being fired at the residence. Deputies also learned that Dean may have been accompanied by his girlfriend, Nefertiti Iesha Green, of LaGrange and Lanett, Alabama.

Deputies initially learned Dean had violated a Temporary Protection Order against his wife, so warrants were issued for his arrest. Investigators also learned Green had an outstanding warrant for her arrest through State Court for Probation Violation.

Throughout the investigation, Sheriff’s Investigators also learned Dean and Green may have participated in an earlier Robbery and Auto Theft that occurred at the Walmart on New Franklin Road in LaGrange and La-Grange Police Detectives were alerted to this information.

Sheriff’s Investigators later receive information indicating Green and Dean could be traveling through LaGrange in on Tuesday, so a “Be On the Look Out” warning was issued for the vehicle. Shortly after the BOLO was issued, LaGrange Police located and executed a traffic stop on the vehicle in question, which was occupied by Dean and Green.

Sheriff’s Deputies also responded and assisted police with taking the suspects into custody. Deputies and officers found the suspects in possession of a loaded semi-automatic pistol, which was consistent with the weapon used in the earlier shooting in Troup County as well as numerous additional rounds of ammunition.

The two were also found to be in possession of a large amount of Methamphetamine, about 1,000 grams in all, as well as a small amount of Marijuana.

As a result, Dean, age 41, and Green, age 31, were arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where they were booked into the jail on various charges.

Dean was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm During a Felony, Possession of Marijuana – Less than an Ounce, Temporary Protection Order Violation, and Driving on a Suspended License.

Green was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm During a Felony, Possession of Marijuana – Less than an Ounce, Giving a False Name, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving on a Suspended License, and a warrant for Probation Violation.

Additional charges on both subjects are pending.

Both Dean and Green are currently being held at the Troup County Jail where they were denied bond.
