Police Investigating Lindsey Street

LaGrange Police are investigating a shooting incident where the initial suspect ending up being determined to be the actual victim.

Monday morning about 10:52 a.m., LaGrange Police responded to the area of 1200 block of Lindsey Street in reference to shots fired from a vehicle.

Police arrived and found several subjects standing outside who were discussing the shooting.

The subjects advised they observed a black male with a dark complexion driving a brown Malibu with gold stripes had he had possibly fired the shots in the area. Officers quickly determined the subjects had not actually seen vehicle firing shots, but only say the vehicle fleeing the scene at high speed.

The suspect’s vehicle was later located on Jefferson Street and the male driver matched the description provided by witnesses. They then informed police that he was the victim and that someone on Lindsey Street had actually been shooting at him. This was further evidenced by several bullet holes found on his vehicle.

The victim stated he was driving on Lindsey Street, when he felt his tire go flat and then looked up to see an unknown black male pointing a gun at him. He advised he then fled from the area.

Police attempted to speak with the neighbors about the incident, but had little cooperation due to being afraid of retaliation.

No one was injured during the incident. This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigations Section.
