Sherry T. Tatum
Sherry Teresa Tatum, age 52, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at her home. Sherry was born December 12, 1963, in Tampa, Florida, daughter of the late Gaston and Martha Enfinger Tatum. A former resident of Pine Mountain, she had lived in LaGrange for nineteen years and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Keel of LaGrange; sister and brother in-law, Shelia and Terry Hubbard of Columbus; and her cat, Big Boy. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffery Tatum, Sr. The family is honoring Ms. Tatum’s wish to be cremated and no service will be conducted at this time. Margie Novella Cole Tomlinson
Mrs. Margie Novella Cole Tomlinson, age 87, of LaGrange, passed away on July 17, 2016 at the West Georgia Hospice. Mrs. Tomlinson was born on September 8, 1928 in LaGrange to the late Clarence Cole and Odell Estes Cole. She worked at West Georgia Medical Center as a C.N.A. for over 20 years. Her parents preceded her in death as well as her husband, Byron Tomlinson, sister, Carol Baxter, brother, Morgan Cole. Survivors include her sons; Ed Hart and his wife Nelsa, Stephen Hart and his wife Bonnie, Chuck Hart and his wife Lori; daughter, Peggy Knight and her husband Larry; brother, Lamar Cole and his wife Liz; grandchildren, Larry Knight, Jr., Cheri Knight, Stephen Hart, Jr., Sandy Wilson, Megan Hester, Caren Lepage, Ed Hart, Mason Hart; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services was held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Dr. Stephen Hart, Sr. officiated. Family received friends from 5-8 on Monday at Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Linda Faye Lockridge Hayes
Mrs. Linda Faye Lockridge Hayes, age 73, of Greenville, passed away on July 16, 2016. Mrs. Hayes was born on March 14, 1943 in LaGrange to the late John Lockridge and Izora Higgins Lockridge. Survivors include her daughter, Tammie L. Alaniz and her husband Alonso Marcial; sons, Daniel L. Hayes and his wife Shirley and Lamar C. Hayes; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; extended family and friends. Funeral services were held on July 18, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home. Nanette L Scarbrough
Mrs. Nanette L. “Nancy” Scarbrough, age 79, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at West Georgia Hospice. She was born October 23, 1936 in Harris County Georgia, the loving daughter of Hubert Harris Livingston and Willie Doris Keeble Livingston. Nancy was united in marriage to the late John Wayne Scarbrough Sr. for forty nine years. She retired from Mansours Department Store after working twenty plus years as a credit clerk. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Overton; son, Chris (wife Buffey) Scarbrough; grandchildren, Taylor Overton, Morgan Overton, Walker Scarbrough, Chloe Scarbrough, Scarlett Lucas, Garrod Scarbrough and Amanda Martin; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Phelps, Sandra King; and a very special lifelong friend, Sharon Ewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son John Wayne “Chuck” Scarbrough Jr. and daughter Nancy Lynn Scarbrough. The family received friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home, LaGrange. David Lee Gunn
Mr. David Lee Gunn was born November 11, 1961 to the late, Jimmie Lee Gunn and Arttie Miss Daniel Gunn. On July 8, 2016, David departed this life at Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Lewis Gunn; maternal grandparents, Jim Walter Daniel and Hattie Effie Davis Daniel; paternal grandparents, George Gunn and Ophelia Gunn. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Antonio Darrell Gunn; eight sisters, Jimmie E. (John P., Sr.) Simpson, Helen G. Smith, Arttie Faye Gunn, all of LaGrange, GA; Elaine Gunn, Eddie Mae Gunn, Mary E. Copeland, Ophelia Gunn, and Linda C. Gunn, all of Pine Mountain, GA; one brother, Melvin Gunn, LaGrange, GA: a special friend and mother of his child, Sharon Rutledge; extended family, Ray Rutledge and Anisha Whitehead; cousin and best friend, Alvin Gunn; close friend, Jeffrey Crowder, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and the Gunn Family of Texas.

Minister Grady Hudson
Minister Grady Hudson was born December 19, 1926 in LaGrange, Georgia. He was the son of the late Shed Hudson and the late Eula Mae Hudson. He departed this world to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 10, 2016. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Ms. Rebecca Goode Hudson on June 17, 1944. Min. Grady was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He set an exemplary example by always putting GOD first. In addition to his wife, mother and father, he was preceded in death by three beautiful daughters; Roberta Lovelace, Rose Marie Hudson, and Katherine Hudson Brewer; one son, Johnny Hudson; three sisters, Ellen (Wylie) Hood, Hattie (Oscar) Knight and Ruth (Charlie) Harris; five brothers, Amos (Lois) Hudson, Willie Hudson, Julius (Sara) Hudson, Shed Hudson Jr., and Issac Hudson; one grandson, Albert Brewer; one great grandchild, Marcus; and three great grandchildren. Roy Wayne Butts
Roy Wayne Butts, age 75, of Pine Mountain, died July 16, 2016 at West Georgia Hospital in LaGrange. Wayne was born August 24, 1940 in Pine Mountain, Georgia, where he was a lifelong resident and proud farmer. He retired from Iron Worker Union Local 387 in which he was a welder for more than 30 years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, JoAnn Thrash Butts; a daughter, Dathney Martin; a great granddaughter, Autaum Benefield; his parents, Roy and Ermanie Butts. Survivors include his children, Kristie (Robert) Graham and Chuck (Michelle) Butts all from Pine Mountain. Grandchildren include Jake Galyon, Trevor Galyon, Chloe Galyon, Holly Benefield, Ryan Martin, Ashley Martin, Dusty Butts, and Jordan Butts as well as numerous great grandchildren. A graveside funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18 at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ellis Freeman officiated.
