Hollis Hand Hosts Back To School Bash At Tall Pines

Here in LaGrange and Troup County, we are a community that truly cares about all of our kids and wants to make sure that they are well equipped to come to school with the supplies and the tools that they need in order to gain the best education possible. Fortunately for all of us, our community is a resilient one and right before the start of classes, many schools get together for book bag and school supply drives. This past Thursday, July 28, Hollis Hand hosted their back to school bash event at the apartment complex Tall Pines off of Turner Road.

For five years in a row, Hollis Hand has gone out into the community to different areas and given out school supplies right before the back to school season. Thanks to the charity and generosity of the teachers, the principal Jack Morman, and all of those involved, every child from all of our communities will have the opportunity to return to school this fall not only with school supplies, but also with the knowledge that people in this community truly care for them and their well being.

Late in the hot afternoon sun, a school bus of teachers came rolling up to the apartment complex, ready to greet the kids that they have missed and participate in the fun and games. Principal Morman MC’d the event, telling every one of all of the free events that were planned. The teachers and stocked up with all kinds of fun and games. There were bead making, hoola hoops, a photo booth area, musical games, juggling, and even free Kona Ice.

Principal Morman emphasized how important it is to go out into all of our communities and pour as much love onto them as we possibly can. Every elementary school kid was able to leave that day with a bag school of school supplies and ready to learn.

Hollis Hand would like to say a special thank you to Kona Ice for coming out to the event and giving so graciously to all of the kids that came.
