Mark 16:15 KJV “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

In today’s generation of upcoming believers, most are not from a biblical background. Most aren’t coming from a home of parents that take them to church, teach them, or even pray over/for them. The Holy Spirit is wooing hearts, and it is showing for those who have their eyes open for it. That means there are new believers out there that are looking for examples and guidance on this whole complicated, beautiful walk we have with Christ (notice I didn’t say easy?). The more my husband and I have done ministry, I have heard the questions, “What is my purpose?”, “Do I have a purpose?”. When I first accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I was very young but when I got older and knew I needed Him, I rededicated my life back to the Lord. I was in a new, strange place. I knew what had been prophesied over me and what had even been spoken to me by the Holy Spirit through other people, but I was still at a loss. I didn’t know where to start or even what direction I was supposed to go in. SO, let me start by saying, YOU DO HAVE A PURPOSE! As the scripture above says, we are to go into ALL the world and preach the gospel. We are to be a light in a dark place. There are times when Satan will come in and try to whisper in your ear to tell you that you are wasting your time. THATISALIE! We must remember first and for most that we are to be about God’s purpose. Jesus did this when He stayed behind in Jerusalem and Mary and Joseph were looking for Him. Luke 2:49 (NKJV) says, “And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”. We MUST focus ourselves on our Heavenly Father and what HE has planned. It is imperative that we get in the word and spend time with the Lord every day and every chance we get to renew our mind and get plugged into Him (Ephesians 4:22-24; Romans 12:2). We must learn to come to a place to trust the promises He has given us in His word about our lives even though we are working for HIS glory (Exodus 9:16).

Now, with that said, many ask that question driven by the curiosity of seeing the gifts of the Spirit at work (1 Corinthians 12:8-10; Romans 12:6-8). We are each given abilities in our lives that we canthrivein. Forsomeitisteaching, preaching, higher levels of creativity, or even servitude (cleaning, cooking, ect.) Each of these things or anything like it, in whatever form or skill level they come in can be used for your purpose. Me, for example (speaking carnally), I am in public safety. There is no way I could sit down with a group of children of any age and try to teach them much of anything except not to hurt themselves. It is just not my skill or talent. I am unable to do what others can do to the magnitude others can because we are each endowed with different skills and abilities. Again, Romans 12:6 (NKJV), “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us,..”.

Once you get into the word and start spending that time with the Lord, the Holy Spirit is able to come in and teach us (John 14:26; Mark 13:11). As you grow, be careful of putting a human being above God. He is your teacher. He USES men to help guide (1 John 2:27). THIS DOES NOT MEAN FOR YOU TO STOP GOING TO CHRUCH, OR THAT IT IS OK THAT YOU DON’T GO TO CHRUCH! It also doesn’t mean for you to not read and research. I ENCORUAGE YOU to seek Him out! My dad, he was amazing. He was a school teacher, preacher, professor, and had his doctorate. I was a very curious child, but my dad knew exactly what I needed to get through to me to teach me. Just as my dad knew me and my quirks, our Heavenly Father is the same and will teach us if you set your eyes to Him. He will speak to you and show you through His word. He made you! He knows you inside and out, and what better a teacher than someone who knows you better than YOU?

You have a purpose. Use wisdom and discernment as you seek Him. In reflection of the ministry which our dad lived and the loving memory we always keep in our hearts for our parents. We love you daddy. 11/14/194107/31/2016 God Bless;
