Convicted Murderer Erwin Brewer’s Convictions Upheld by Georgia Supreme Court

On August 28, 2017 the Supreme Court of Georgia affirmed the convictions of Erwin Brewer for murder and other related crimes. In February 2015, Brewer was found guilty by a jury of his peers in the superior Court of Troup County of charges stemming from an incident in December 2013 during which Brewer shot and killed the victim, Larry Strickland. Coweta Judicial circuit Judge John Simpson sentenced Brewer to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

I want to thank and congratulate Senior Assistant District Attorney Melissa Himes for her service and success in handling both the trial and appeal, and the La-Grange Police Department for its diligent and thorough investigation. Hopefully, this ruling from the Georgia Supreme Court will bring some closure to the victim’s family.
