Police Nab Convenience Store Robber

LaGrange Police have arrested a man who allegedly robbed a local convenience store by force.

The original incident occurred at the 777 Store on the evening of March 15th, around 6:50 p.m. Officers with the LaGrange Police Department were called to the store in the 400 block of Greenville Street where they met with the store clerk, Swati Shah.

Shah informed police that about five minutes earlier a black male and a black female walked into the store and began selecting items for purchase. The female then exited the store, but the male remained inside and walked behind the counter and demanded money from her. The male then reportedly snatched approximately $500 from the cash register and walked out with the other items that he had selected from the store.

Police were later able to identify the male suspect as Lamarr Kerone Sims and warrants were issued for his arrest.

Sims reportedly left the area in a black Lincoln with at least three other subjects.

Officers later located Sims and he was placed under arrest and taken into custody for the incident.

As a result, Sims, age 40, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the jail charged with Strong Arm Robbery of a Business.

Sims is currently being held at the Troup County Jail on $5,000 bond.
