 Charles Benson Brewer

Charles Benson Brewer was born October 25, 1961 in LaGrange, Georgia. He was one of eleven children born to the late George Dewey Brewer and Virginia Brewer. He graduated from LaGrange High School, Class of 1979; where he was known for playing basketball and being a “Ladies Man.”  Charles was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William E. Harris. His favorite past time was spent watching wrestling and Maury.

On August 17, 2018 Charles Benson Brewer made his Eternal Transition at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sister:  Mary Davis, Thenola Brewer Gholston, Willie Frances Brewer; two brothers:  George Brewer, Jr. and Gary Brewer; and niece, Larynne Davis; three brothers-in-law:  Douglas Peterson, Larry Davis, Sr., and Eddie George White, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memoires, five loving children:  Quincy Smith, Mario Smith, Shantris Smith, Gabrielle King, and Cordaisha King; five grandchildren:  Cuerentavious, Maziyah, Demarion, Devonte, Pierce; three sisters:  Ruby Peterson, Barbara White, Annie Kelley; two brothers:  Leon Brewer and Nathaniel Brewer; one brother-in-law, James Gholston; special nurse, Cheryl Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The Celebration of Life Service was Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Confidence Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. H. L. Jones officiated. Burial followed at Southview Cemetery.

 Henry Ralph Johnson

Mr. Henry Ralph Johnson was born August 6, 1951 to the late Willie Johnson and Katherine P. Askew in Atlanta (Fulton County) Georgia. He was reared in West Point, Georgia and was a graduate of Harrison High School, Class of 1969.Upon graduating from high school, he went on to enlist in the United States Army. While in the Army, he received the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Commendation Medal; Marksman (Rifle M-14); Expert (Rifle M16) Grenade. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he returned to West Point, Georgia where he was gainfully employed by W. P. Foundry and a local furniture store. Henry LOVED football and enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. On Saturday, August 18, 2018; Henry departed this life at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children:  Nekeisha (Kelton) Wilkerson and Quintashalin Barber; grandchildren:  Dequavious Barber, Jaylon Cunningham, Martrell Barber, Destinee Wilkerson, Devin Wilkerson, Cinya Davis, and John Wesley Davis, Jr., special cousin, Joseph “JoJo” Johnson; special friend, Bubba Jackson. The Celebration of Life Service was Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dr. W. T. Edmondson and Minister Christopher Wallace officiated. Burial will follow at Marseilles Cemetery.



 John Mulkey

Funeral services for John Mulkey, age 58, of Roanoke, were held on Friday, August 24, 2018, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Steve Robertson and Cindy Norred officiating.  Burial followed at Heritage Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday, August 24, 2018. Mr. Mulkey passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Clay County Hospital in Ashland, Alabama. Survivors include his mother Ethel Mulkey; one brother Henry Mulkey of Wedowee; two nieces, Shannon Harrington (husband, Steve) of Wedowee and Stacy Mulkey of Colorado; and several great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were family and friends. A Roanoke native, Mr. Mulkey was born on August 19, 1960, the son of James William and Ethel Wood Mulkey. He was a member of Community Life Church and had been employed at Southwire. He attended Randolph County Learning Center for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father and brother William Mulkey. Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations to Randolph County Learning Center, P.O. Box 127, Roanoke, AL 36274
