Callaway Defeats Jordan 56-0 in Final Game of Regular Season
The Cavaliers on Thursday closed out their regular season with a 56-0 victory over Jordan at Callaway Stadium. The blowout win put the Cavaliers at 8-2 for the season.
Callaway battled through a rainy Thursday evening to earn one of the team’s most-commanding victories this season. The win came less than a week after the Cavaliers got their first region loss of the season against their rival Heard County. The Cavaliers, who led for most of the game against the Braves, lost in the final seconds of the game after a fourth-quarter comeback by Heard County.
The Cavaliers didn’t have to worry about losing their lead Thursday, however, as their explosive offense hung over fifty points on a beleaguered Jordan team.
Callaway now looks to take their success into the playoffs. With back-toback final-four appearances, the Cavaliers are hoping to improve on their success from recent years. Earlier this season, following their season-opening win against Region 6AAAAAA powerhouse Opelika, quarterback Jacob Freeman and running back Tank Bigsby expressed their intent to bring home championship rings this season.
Now, with the playoffs looming ahead, Callaway will have their chance to do just that.
