LaGrange Falls to 1-8 after 37-3 Loss to Chapel Hill

The Grangers’ season continued to snowball following their 37-3 loss to Chapel Hill on Friday. Playing at Callaway Stadium, the Grangers failed to defend their home turf against a strong 6-3 Chapel Hill team.

The loss puts the Grangers at a disappointing 1-8 record for the season. It is, however, a record that has in some ways been a little misleading. While the Grangers have struggled to finish games many times this season, they have put together many strong second- half and defensive showings.

It’s a team that, while much improved over last year’s winless squad, simply doesn’t have the talent to compete in the region without playing perfect games.

And though the defense has played like one of the best in the county, the offense has put together a poor showing all season. Their highest-scoring match came against the Tigers a few weeks ago, and it’s the only game in which the Grangers scored two touchdowns.

Friday night, however both the Grangers’ defense and their offense struggled in their 37-3 loss. They have one final chance for redemption this season in their homecoming matchup against Shaw this Friday at Callaway Stadium at 7:30 PM.
