Police Searching for Suspect from Home Invasion Domestic Assault
LaGrange Police are looking for a man who allegedly broke into his former girlfriend’s home and held her against her will in a violent incident.
Thursday morning about 9:27 a.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the 300 block of Alford Street in reference to a domestic incident.
Officers arrived and made contact with the victim, who had several visible injuries to her neck and face.
The female victim stated that she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Tobias Grier, who had broken into her residence while she was asleep.
The victim explained that she was awakened by Grier standing at the foot of the bed. Grier had reportedly entered the residence uninvited by jimmying a lock with a credit card.
The victim advised that Grier then snatched her cell phone from her bed and began to look through it as the two continued to argue. The victim stated when she began to walk toward the door that Grier assaulted her.
According to the victim, Grier pushed her to the floor before dragging her around by her hair, striking her in the face at least four times, and strangled her with both hands.
Grier reportedly held the victim against her will inside her residence for some time before he left with her cell phone. The victim advised she then fled to a family member’s residence where she contacted police.
As a result of the incident warrants for Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and False Imprisonment have been issued for Tobias Grier’s arrest.
This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department.
