Conchita Allen Dent

On August 5, 1927, Conchita Allen was born in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Mr. George H. Allen and Mrs. Mary Frances Downer-Allen. Conchita was called home on April 19,2020 at her daughters’ home surrounded by family and friends. At an early age she joined Oak Grove A.M.E Church and was a dedicated and faithful member who served in many capacities. Conchita graduated from East Depot High School class of 1948. She was a member of The Union Benevolent Aid Society, District #6. Later, she married Mr. Thomas James Dent on October 1, 1953 to this union four children were born. She was employed by West Georgia Medical Center where she worked diligently as a housekeeping supervisor for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling until her health began declining. Preceding her in death; Her parents Mr. George H. Allen and Mrs. Mary Frances Downer-Allen, her brothers James (Jimmy), Lucious, Joe, Willie Walker, Frank and George, Jr. Two sisters Clara and Lula-Mae. Also, her husband Mr. Thomas J. Dent and her daughter Ms. Mary Frances Daniels. Also preceding her in death her darling companion Mindy. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Mrs. Menuett D. Bolling (Elmore), West Point, GA; two sons, Mr. Thomas F. Dent, Virginia Beach, VA and Mr. Timothy I. Dent (Patricia) La Grange, GA; a loving family member, Ms. Sherl Dent, LaGrange, GA; nine grandchildren: Mrs. Conchita Little (Victor) Winston Salem, NC, Mr. Thomas Dent II, LaGrange, GA, Mrs. Thalassia Harris (Don) Byron, GA, Ms. Natasha Dent, Pensacola, FL, Mr. Christopher Bolling, LaGrange, GA, Ms. Jasmine Daniels, Warner Robins, GA, Ms. Zenobia Dent, LaGrange, GA, Ms. Carlita Bolling (Antoine) LaGrange, GA Ms. Darineya Dent, Montgomery, AL; seven great grandchildren: Peyton Little, Gabrielle Harris, Kaiden Bolling, Alexis Harris, Taelyn Dent, Joshua Dent and Elijah Standifer; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.


Mrs. Robbie Debra Chaffin Longshore

Mrs. Robbie Debra Chaffin Longshore, age 69, of LaGrange, passed away on April 4, 2020 at the Sacred Heart Hospice in McDonough. Mrs. Longshore was born on August 27, 1950 to the late George M. Chaffin and Lizabeth Chaffin White.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristie Scott; son, Hal Longshore; step-father, Johnny White; sisters, Sara Butcher, Mary George Landreth and Alta Blankenship.   Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Pike (Greg); son, Jonathan Longshore (Morgan); brother, Max Chaffin (Sandy); sister, Sherry Rasmus (Don); grandchildren, Zachary Anderson (Amanda), Lucas Harrington (Hannah) and Kaison Pike; two great grandchildren, Kohen and Kayden; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.   The family would like to say a special “thank you” to Angie Loftis (niece) who provided care during Mrs. Longshore’s illness.  Due to the health issues in our country, a memorial service will be announced for family and friends at a later date.
