Woman Accused of Stabbing Incident
LaGrange Police have charged a local woman with Aggravated Assault after she allegedly got into an argument and stabbed a male during a domestic incident.
The incident allegedly occurred shortly before 12:07 p.m., on Sunday, July 5, when officers with the LaGrange Police Department were called to Mitchell Avenue Apartment in reference to reports of a person who had been stabbed.
Police arrived and observed multiple people outside in the parking lot arguing, pushing, and shoving each other. When officers attempted to locate the victim, they were approached by a witness, who pointed out Stephanie Nicole Geter as the suspect.
Geter was found covered in blood and she initially stated that the witness was lying. After separating the subjects, police were able to identify the male victim, who was observed to have multiple cuts to the side of his neck, a cut to his forehead, and an eye socket that appeared to be swollen.
Although Geter was covered in blood, she claimed it was he own blood, saying she had accidentally gotten cut during the altercation. Geter did have a small laceration to her finger.
Paramedics were called to the scene and both subjects were treated for their injuries.
During the subsequent investigation, police determined that an argument had ensued between the two parties where Geter had slashed the male victim with a knife.
As a result, Geter, age 29, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, where she was booked into the jail charged with Aggravated Assault with a Knife – Family Violence Act.
