Police Investigating Shooting in West Point

West Point Police are investigating a shooting incident that injured two people Monday evening near the West Point Housing Authority.

Police responded after receiving a 911 call in reference to the incident shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday evening. Officers later learned that two people, a male and female, sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting.

Police say one of the victims was airlifted for emergency care and the other was taken to a local hospital.

As of press time, police have determined one potential suspect, but the individual has not been publically identified.

This incident is still under active investigation by the West Point Police Department.
