Donald Walter Newman

Mr. Donald Walter Newman, age 76, of LaGrange, passed away on September 5, 2020.  Mr. Newman was born on January 26, 1944 in Newnan, Georgia to the late Walter Newman and Lera Griffin Newman.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from Interface in LaGrange.  Survivors include his wife, Nancy McDowell Newman; son, Michael (Mike) Newman and his wife Meredith; daughter, Melanie Newman Harkleroad and her husband Larry; grandchildren, Morgan Newman, Megan Newman Eady (Drew), Zack Davis and Madison Bates (Alan); extended family and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel.  Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until service hour at the funeral home. Peggy Sue Price

Mrs. Peggy Sue Price, 62, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Price was born April 23, 1958, in LaGrange, daughter of the late W. A. “Bill” Scott, Sr. and Rachel McCormick Scott. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church, worked many years as a waitress, and enjoyed serving her customers and meeting people. Survivors include her sons, Roy Lee (Jo) Scott and Patrick Bowen, all of LaGrange; her nieces and nephew that she raised and considered her children, Wanda Kelley Hay and her husband John of Thomaston, Rachel Kelley Kraemer and her husband Mark of Hogansville, James W. Kelley, Jr. of LaGrange; brother, William A. “Bill” Scott, Jr. and his wife Barbara of LaGrange; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lamar “PeeWee” Price; brothers, Larry Wayne Scott, Sr., Jerry Arnold Scott, Sr.; and sisters, Geneva Scott Mabry and Mary Frances Scott. The funeral service was conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 7, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Rev. Joel Scott officiated and interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, AL at 2:00 p.m. (EDT).


Carole Hames Dalrymple

Mrs. Carole Hames Dalrymple, 76, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at the home of her daughter in McDonough. Mrs. Dalrymple was born May 14, 1944, in Atlanta, daughter of the late Herschel and Pauline Neal Hames. A former resident of Forest Park, she had lived in Troup County for 34 years, was retired from Buffalo Rock, and was a member of Cedarcrest Community Church in LaGrange. She was always a caregiver and enjoyed being a nursing home volunteer and being active in her church. Survivors include her daughters, Kim Underwood of Hogansville, Wanda Dalrymple of Snellville, and Lisa Stubbe of McDonough; sister, Sandra Bright of Mableton; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. The family is honoring Mrs. Dalrymple’s request that no service be held.
