Warrants Issued for Woman Accused of Burglary and Assaulting Child
Warrants have been issued for a woman accused of breaking into a home to steal a cell phone and attacking a child.
The investigation began Tuesday afternoon around 4:25 p.m., when officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to Chattahoochee Street in reference to a burglary of an occupied dwelling.
During the subsequent investigation, police determined that 31-year-old Lisa McGhee forcibly broke into the home of the adult victim and stole her cell phone.
McGhee reportedly got into a confrontation with juvenile inside the residence during the alleged burglary. Police say she then assaulted and battered the juvenile by making physical contact with the child and placing them in fear of receiving injury.
Warrants have since been issued on McGhee for Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Third Degree Cruelty to a Child, Simple Assault, and Simple Battery.
No further details have been released at this time, and this incident remains under investigation.
