CheesyMac Deli to Open February 27 on Bull Street

For CheesyMac Deli owner Matthew Oleson, his new downtown restaurant is about more than food.

“I’m bringing my favorite foods to share with the community,” the LaGrange native said. “I was born and raised here and love the community and the idea of giving back and serving the people of the community.”

Oleson, who has wanted to open a restaurant since age ten, sees one clear way of giving back.

“What better way to do that than with food?” he asked, standing in the restaurant’s 120 Bull Street location in downtown LaGrange. The new restaurant provides a mix of old and new, serving comforting favorites while featuring one of LaGrange’s boldest new menus.

“CheesyMac Deli is based around a menu everybody loves,” said Oleson, adding that the restaurant’s year-round menu is “something that kids and adults can all enjoy as well.”

While the restaurant serves classic favorites such as macaroni and cheese, soups, and sandwiches, it often does so in unique new ways. CheesyMac Deli’s menu includes new macaroni and cheese bowls, which can come plain or topped with meats or vegetarian options; vegetarian and meat sandwiches; and fresh sides such as kaleslaw and loaded baked potato salad.

It’s a menu Oleson is excited to share with the community.

“The CheesyMac bowls are going to be really popular, I think,” he said. “It’s a lot of ooey-gooey mac and cheese covered with proteins like chicken, fajita steak, and pulled pork with barbecue sauce.”

The new restaurant owner appears equally excited about the location’s deli options.

“Our sandwiches are basically canvasses that you can turn into whatever type of art you want,” he said. “They can really meet and satisfy all the tastes of every palette.”

CheesyMac Deli will hold its grand opening at 120 Bull Street in LaGrange on February 27th. Special hours for the grand opening are scheduled to be 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Regular business hours are scheduled to be Monday-Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
