Lucille Shepherd Robinson
Lucille Shepherd Robinson was born May 15, 1951 in Pine Mountain, Georgia, formerly Chipley, Georgia to the late Abbie Shepherd, Sr., and Mary Emma Jenkins Shepherd. Within this family were born nine daughters and six sons. She was the thirteenth loving child, one of great promise and blessing. At an early age she was born into Christ at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia. She matriculated through the Harris County School System and graduated from Carver High School, Class of 1969. Lucille then attended Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, Georgia. She was united in Holy matrimony to Bishop Matthew Robinson. His steps were ordered by the Lord to establish and nurture numerous churches in several eastern states. As his wife and an anointed, devoted and committed servant of God, she traveled with him serving in various capacities as her gift made room. After he departed this life, she returned home to her beloved family and community. She then united herself in service at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on February 28, 2001. Her love of God and His people gave her unspeakable joy as she submitted herself to songs of praise as Minister of Music and Soloist. She was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in November 28, 2004, and she availed herself to the teaching and preaching the gospel. Lucille’s service on earth ended as her spirit took flight to be with the Lord. However, her time of continuous praise has been elevated to a new height. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Mr. and Mrs. Abbie and Mary Shepherd, Sr.; her devoted husband, Bishop Matthew Robinson; four brothers: Willie George Shepherd, Virgil Shepherd, Wilbur Shepherd, and Abbie Shepherd, Jr.; and five sisters: Sara Lee Gates, Catherine Hill, Carrie Shepherd, Claudia Ellison and Lena Shepherd. Leaving to cherish her memories, three sisters: Elizabeth Hill, Dorothy Williams, and Vernetta Shepherd; two brothers: Earl( Mary) Shepherd and Leonard Shepherd; also to cherish her memories she leaves: two sisters-in- law: Janet Shepherd and Vivian Shepherd; brother-in-law, Joseph Ellison; and a nephew whom she nurtured, Adrian Shepherd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Family received friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home last Sunday from 5:00 – 7:00. The Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday at 12:00 Noon on the grounds of Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment followed at Shepherd Family Cemetery.
