LaGrange Community to Celebrate National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 6th
The National Day of Prayer is a prayer service to unite the community and the nation.
This year’s theme is Lord Pour Out Your Love, Life and Liberty.
Everyone from all faiths is encouraged to participate in this community prayer service.
President Harry Truman signed a bill April 17th, 1952 proclaiming The National Day of Prayer into law.
In 2002, Linda McGill says she, along with Debbie Burdette and Sondra Bowie, were led by the Lord to hold an official National Day of Prayer event in LaGrange every year.
“There is so much power in prayer,” McGill says. “We’re all God’s children. If we come together in prayer, there is power in prayer.”
