Mrs. Sandra Faye Woodyard was born August 20, 1953 to the late Alford and Alma Williams in Troup County, Georgia. At an early age, she united with Bright Star Baptist Church; where she remained a faithful member and served as the Church Secretary for many years until failing health prevented her from attending. Sandra graduated from Troup High School, Class of 1971. She also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Morris Brown College in 1975. She was employed with Harris County Department of Family and Children Services for twenty- nine years. Sandra was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Bobby Woodyard, a union that has lasted forty-two years; and was blessed with one daughter, Greta. Auection ately known as “Faye”, she was loved by everyone. She always had a pleasant spirt and loved the Lord, her family, to laugh, and talk on the phone. On Thursday, June 3, 2021; our beloved Faye gained her wings at Warm Springs Medical Center in Warm Springs, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-inlaw, Mary George Woodyard; uncles: James Hubbard and Leroy Hubbard; and additional family members that held a close place in her heart: Dorothy Woodyard, Mary Alice Woodyard, and Mattie Woodyard. Sandra leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband, Bobby Woodyard; loving daughter, Greta Woodyard; the apples of her eye, her two granddaughters: Ariana Clinton and Alexis Woodyard; sisters: Eartha Williams, Philadelphia, PA; Debbie Williams, Valerian Heard, Loriann (Alfonzia) Simpson, all of LaGrange, GA; one brother, Victor Williams, Charleston, SC; father-in-law, Leroy Woodyard; sisters-in-law: Jarvis Woodyard, Atlanta, GA; and Diane Moore; brothers- in-law: Jerome Woodyard, Flint, MI; Andre Hill, LaGrange, GA; and Kenny Woodyard, Flint, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and her Bright Star Church Family; and former Harris County DFACS co-workers.
