Higgins at Hunter Allen Myhand Olga Sue Deaton Barfield Mrs. Olga Sue Deaton Bar- field, of LaGrange, passed away on June 8, 2021. She was born in Columbus, Mississippi on December 29, 1942 to the late Vivian Benjamin Deaton and Virginia Holman Deaton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barfield is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Terry Stratton. She was a graduate of Hinds Jr. College and George Pea- body College. Mrs. Barfield was a very gifted teacher. She put her talent for teaching to great use everywhere she went. She had a career teaching art for over 34 years in Florida, Mississippi, and Arkansas. She also used her talents to serve the Lord in ministry. She taught Sunday School, Children’s Church and Vacation Bible School. She had a wonderful puppet ministry at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Blytheville, Arkansas. Mrs. Olga Sue Deaton Barfield is survived by her husband, Tommy Barfield; her daughters, Ali cia Stratton and Paige Motis (Tim); her grandchildren, Wade Stratton, Fletcher Stratton, Mallory Stratton, Matthew Motis, and Levi Motis; her sisters, Judy Deaton Simmons, Debra Hullum (Jimmy), Candy Henderson (Johnny), and Kaye Dawson. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they make their way through this very challenging time. The Memorial service will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Saturday June 12, 2021 at 4 p.m. Pastor Andy Buchan- an will ovciate the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until service time on Saturday.
