Juvenile Shot During Late-Night Street Confrontation
LaGrange Police are investigating an aggravated assault where a local juvenile was shot while walking home during a late-night confrontation.
Late Saturday night, just before midnight, officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to West Point Street and Sirrine Street in reference to reports of person that had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile with a single non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to West Georgia Medical Center for treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.
According to the victim, he had been at a party in the area and as he was headed home when he was confronted by an unknown individual wearing a mask. During the confrontation the victim was shot.
No further description of the individual was provided and the identity of the suspect is unknown at this time.
This incident is still under active investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigations Section.
