Doctor Honored for 50 Years of Medical Service

A reception honoring J.(ohn) Scott Andrews for 50 years of medical service was held at Del’Avant Event Center in LaGrange Thursday, July 28th. Dr. Andrews attended Ouachita Baptist University, graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and received his Psychiatric Residency at Letterman Army Medical Center. He is a Lt-Colonel USAR MC (retired) having been awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Army Distinguished Service Medal and others.

He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, is a member of the Christian Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. He has practiced in LaGrange since 1983. Originally affiliated with the West Georgia Christian Counseling Center, he is now associated with AFSAN InC and assisted by his long-time office manager Brenda Morman, as well as NP Tara Moses and Counselor Leslie Van Toole MA. He is married for 53 years to Shirley Ann (Evans), has two children and four grandchildren, all of LaGrange and is a member of First Baptist Church on the Square, having taught Sunday School for more than 30 years.
