Braves World Series Trophy Stops by LaGrange
Countless Braves fans lined up at Sweetland Amphitheatre on Saturday for a chance to see the Atlanta Braves’ World Series Trophy.
The event was part of the Braves 2021 World Series Trophy Tour which has 151 stops across the Southeast in order to commemorate 151 years of Braves baseball.
Many fans from La-Grange, Troup County and all around Georgia stopped by to grab a photo with the World Championship Trophy that was awarded to the Atlanta Braves following their World Series win over the Houston Astros.
Plenty of fun and games were also available as part of the celebration. Kids were able to participate in a dizzy bat race with baseballs signed by the Atlanta Braves going to three lucky winners.
A Braves trivia competition was also hosted by local trivia host Greenie’s Pit. Winners of the trivia competition were given four Braves tickets to the game of their choice.
Several local city and county leaders were on hand to welcome guests and Braves representatives including LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton, County Commission Chair Patrick Crews, and Hogansville Mayor Jake Ayers.
A drum line exhibition was performed by Troup High School, LaGrange High School, Callaway High School and Heard County High School bands, followed by a performance by the Braves Heavy Hitters.
