Marvin Frank Lane
Mr. Marvin Frank Lane, age 88, of LaGrange, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the Twin Fountains Home. Mr. Lane was born on April 2, 1932 in Langdale, Alabama to the late Homer Frank Lane and Mary Elder Lane. Mr. Lane was a retired Methodist Minister serving many churches in the LaGrange District. Mr. Lane also managed the shoe department at Mansour’s Department Store for many years. Surviving him are his wife, Linda Foisset Lane; children, Marvin Randall Lane (Cathy), Vicki Lane Vaughan (Ed) and Daniel Tyler Lane (Alison); stepsons, Jason A. Foisset (Allison) and Chad Foisset (Heather); brother, William A. Lane (Mary); eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Lanelle Tyler Lane and his sister, Faye Lane Crowder. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 101 North Davis Road, LaGrange, Georgia, 30241. A Celebration of Mr. Lane’s life will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends before the service from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Catherine Patricia Knight Estes
Mrs. Catherine Patricia Knight Estes, age 82, of LaGrange, passed away on August 24, 2020. Mrs. Estes was born on April 2, 1938 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Roy Henry Knight and Eula Gladys Waller Knight. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Estes and a brother, Timothy Drew Knight. Survivors include her children, Steven Ray Estes (Kimi), Glenda Faye Estes Militano and Sondra Kay Arrington (Alan); sister, Gayle Studdard (Chris); sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren with one on the way; five nephews and extended family. Mrs. Estes graduated in the first class of Troup County High School and was an Owner in their family businesses, United Business Forms and Supply, Inc. and Troup Business Forms. Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Estes will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Pastor Bryan Geter and Pastor Howard Longshore officiating. Interment to follow at Meadoway Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers for the service will be Jacob Webb. Brandon Webb, Kevin Webb, Wayne Webb, Larry Strong and Terry Stewart. Gloria Jean Black Walker
Mrs. Gloria Jean Black Waller, age 75, of West Point, passed away on August 25, 2020. Mrs. Waller was born on September 4, 1944 to the late John Cary Black and Mattie Price Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Montene Waller Bailey and a number of siblings. Mrs. Waller retired from the Troup County School System as a Special Education Teachers Aid. Survivors include her husband, Roy Lee Waller, Jr.; daughter, Teresa Michele Waller Terlisner (Chad); extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel. Interment to follow at the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery on Bartley Road. Family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm until service hour at the funeral home.
John Robert Cherry
Mr. John Robert Cherry, of LaGrange, passed away on August 26, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Cherry was born in June 5, 1928 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to the late John Joseph Cherry and Edna McCloskey Cherry. He was a Funeral Director for over 50 years and retired with Service Corporation International. The family will have a private service of remembrance.
Jackie Knight Poole
Mrs. Jackie Knight Poole, 79, of LaGrange, passed away, Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Poole was born March 29, 1941, in Franklin, daughter of the late Winford and Mildred Davis Knight. She lived in LaGrange most of her life and was employed by West Point Pepperell for many years. Survivors include her children, William Redden, Jr. and his wife Danielle, Richard Redden, and Patricia Redden, all of LaGrange; brother, Jim Knight of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Wilma Richardson of Hogansville, Sara Whitt of Tallahassee, FL, Teresa Walls of Hogansville; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Redden. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday. August 28, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Bobby Bozeman officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery
Joe T. Brooks, Sr.
Mr. Joe T. Brooks, Sr., 99, of LaGrange, GA passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Florence Hand Home. Mr. Brooks was born in Randolph County, AL, son of the late Daniel N. Brooks and Evie Denham Brooks. He was employed with Callaway Mills and later with Milliken and Company before retiring. Mr. Brooks was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Fuller Brooks, son, Joe T. Brooks Jr., and a granddaughter, Angela McCullough. Survivors include his daughter, Ruth (Danny) Butler; son, Danny (Judy) Brooks; daughter-in-law, Paulette Brooks; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Parker and Gladys Barfield. A private memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Edythe Bell Coy was born on January 12, 1931 in Franklin, Indiana and passed away on August 26, 2020 in LaGrange, Georgia and is under the care of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
